Welcome to the website of the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in Bilbao.

Our faculty has completed the process of implementing the new degree programmes, with the first set of graduates qualifying in Business Management and Administration, Economics, Finance and Insurance, Taxation and Public Administration and Marketing. Also in the process of being implemented, with considerable success, is the joint degree in Business Management and Administration and Law. A joint degree programme is also run with the University of Berlin, and we hope in the near future to add to this professional masters' programmes in Advanced Accounting and Auditing and Financial and Actuarial Studies, as well as a joint degree with the University of Lyon, which will also enable our students to gain a master's degree from this prestigious university.

Despite the complexity involved in managing this whole structure (it should also be borne in mind that this is the second-largest part of the UPV/EHU and the one with the most students, nearly 3,000), we believe we have created a website that is fast and easy to browse. Here you can find the most relevant information about both our academic work and the services we provide. In any case, it should be borne in mind that this site is primarily for information purposes.

The faculty was set up in 1955, so our work within the framework of the Spanish public university system goes back nearly 60 years. Many of the people who have passed through our faculty as students are now top professionals in different areas, both in the Basque Country and in the rest of Spain and elsewhere.

It should not be forgotten that the faculty also teaches widely-recognised official master's programmes, several doctoral programmes and university-specific specialist and master-level qualifications, some with more than 20 years of experience behind them. Faculty staff also carry out important research work, as well as producing studies for stakeholders around us, including businesses, the authorities, non-profit bodies and so on.

So, we invite you to find out about all the above, and wish you a "pleasant journey".

The Dean
