Presentación de GISEL

The Electric Power Systems Research Group (GISEL) has been working for over a decade on the development of technologies aimed at making the electrical grid more efficient, cleaner, and smarter. Its research focuses on three key areas: integration of renewable energy sources, microgrids, and power system protection. GISEL maintains close collaboration with the local energy industry, participates in research projects at the regional, national, and European levels, and actively contributes to the training of new generations of researchers. We invite you to explore the different sections of our website to learn more about who we are, our research activities, and the projects we are working on.

Launch of JRL ePLAN, a pioneering energy planning laboratory with GISEL’s participation

First publication date: 28/05/2025

On June 2nd, the JRL ePLAN will be presented at Bizkaia Aretoa — a joint initiative by TECNALIA, UPV/EHU and BC3 to boost applied research in energy planning. The GISEL group will take part alongside two other UPV/EHU research groups, with Professor Francisco Javier Asensio delivering a presentation during the event.

The Joint Research Laboratory on Energy Planning (JRL ePLAN) stems from a collaboration agreement between TECNALIA, the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and the Basque Center for Climate Change (BC3). This virtual laboratory aims to develop methodologies and tools to support the energy transition in the Basque Country by integrating scientific excellence and strategic cooperation.

Representing UPV/EHU, three research groups are involved: Enedi, BiRTE and GISEL. Within the framework of the XX Conference of the Spanish Association for Energy Economics (AEEE), held from June 2 to 4 in Bilbao, Professor Francisco Javier Asensio (GISEL) will present the group and a project aligned with JRL ePLAN’s mission.

The event is open to attendees upon prior registration through this registration form.
