Biography

Industrial Engineer (MSC) University of Navarre (1994) and PhD from the University of the Basque Country (2014, UPV/EHU). The doctoral thesis was awarded by the Federación Iberoamericana de Ingeniería Mecánica (FEIBIM, 2015), “analysis of the Mechanical Behavior of Bistable cross ply laminates”, under the supervision of Dr F Mujika. Positive rating in research (sexenio 2009-2014) and in lecturing ( 2 quinquenios 2006-2015).

I worked both in private (Fundial, Uribesalgo, Grupo Alumafel) and public sectors (Basque Government). Currently I am Assistant Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering of Gipuzkoa, lecturing Applied Mechanics, in 2nd year of Mechanical, Electronic and Electric Engineering. I have been Visiting professor (3 months 2012-2013) at Université de Pau et Des Pays de L´Adour (UPPA)

Research

In this period, I carried out researcher stays at University of Reno (USA, 2 months 2015-2016) working with Professors RF Gibson, y F. Gordaninejad, and at University of Bristol, (UK, 2016, 5 months) thanks to a postdoctoral scholarship of the Spanish Government “José Castillejo” (JC2015-00148). I belong to the research group 'Materials + Technologies' / Mechanics of Materials from the University of the Basque Country. I am a peer reviewer. My research activity is focused on modeling and mechanical characterization of continuous fiber composite material. In recent years, I have focused on modeling nonlinear structures, on morphing, fracture mechanics and determination of the Weibull Parameters.
