Biography

She began Technical Engineering in Industrial, specialising in Industrial Chemistry studies at the Polytechnic School in Donostia (UPV/EHU) and she completed the degree in Industrial Chemical Engineering at the College of Engineering of Vitoria-Gasteiz (UPV/EHU). She earned her Master's in Renewable Materials Engineering at the Polytechnic School of Donostia. She develop her Final Project, her Grade Project and her Master Project under the supervision of Prof. Nagore Gabilondo working on the development of bionanocomposites based on renewable matrices and both cellulosic nanoreinforcements and starch nanocrystals.

She became, in 2013, part of GMT group working as researcher in the project Saiotek Biocarb funded by the Basque Government and supervised by Dra. Gabilondo.

Research

Since 2015, she is developing her doctoral thesis supervised by professors Arantxa Eceiza and Nagore Gabilondo and thanks to the "Ayuda para Formación de Personal Investigador en formación adscrito a grupos de investigación (PIFG003-2015)" grant. Her research is focussed on the preparation and characterization of bionanocomposites, bio-inspired materials and hydrogels, using natural polysaccharides (cellulose, starch, etc.) as matrix and as nanoreinforcements.

In 2017, she did a stay of three months in the research group BioTeam (Université de Strasbourg) leadered by professor Luc Avérous. The aim of this stay was the development of starch hydrogels, focusing on the chemical modification and the cross-linking by Diels-Alder reaction.
