Research Topics
There are three main research areas within the project on European Minority Language Media and Journalism:
- Mapping the reality of the media organizations: Number of media outlets, ownership and content type, financing, and degree of digitalization, among other topics.
- Understanding the core issues of journalists and journalism: Population of journalists, professional and working conditions, language roles, and journalism and identity relationship, among others.
- Assessing factors and strategies of media and journalism development: In this field of higher abstraction level, we evaluate the positive and negative factors influencing the development of minority language media and journalism as well as the strategies that are or could be implemented to enhance them.
