Elizabete Manterola Agirrezabalaga is lecturer of Translation and Interpreting at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. She completed her PhD in 2012, which focused on the translation of Basque literature into foreign languages. She is the author of the books La literatura vasca traducida (Peter Lang, 2014) and Euskal literatura itzulia. Bernardo Atxagaren lanak erdaretan (EHU, 2014). She also created the Catalogue of Basque Literature in Translation (ELI Catalogue, http://www.ehu.eus/ehg/eli/). She has published various papers and participated in many international conferences. Her research interests include translation within minority language contexts, Basque literature and translation, diglossia, self-translation, collaborative self-translation, indirect translation, or corpus-based translation studies.

Zuriñe Sanz-Villar has a degree in Translation Studies from the University of Heidelberg (2008), and in 2015, she defended her PhD thesis on the translation of phraseological units from German into Basque at the University of the Basque Country, where she works as a teacher and researcher. Her main research lines are Corpus Based Descriptive Translation Studies, the translation of phraseological units, translation didactics and natural language processing. So far, she has done three research stays: in 2013 she spent three months at the IDS (Institute for the German Language) in Mannheim (Germany), in 2014 at the Center for Basque Studies in Reno (USA) and in January 2017 in the Department of German Studies and Linguistics at Humboldt University (Germany). Ana Tamayo teaches at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) since November of 2016. She obtained her BA and MA at Universitat Jaume I (Castellón, Spain). At that same university she defended her PhD about captioning for d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing children in 2015. She has been granted the Best Biannual Thesis Award by the Iberian Association of Translation and Interpreting Studies (AIETI) and the annual award of the Economic and Social Committee in the Valencian Community (CES-CV). She has completed two international research stays, at the University of Roehampton (London, UK) and ant the Universidad César Vallejo (Lima, Peru). Currently, she is a member of the research groups TRALIMA/ITZULIK (UPV/EHU) and TRAMA (UJI). Her research interests focus on audiovisual translation and accessibility in different modalities.

In 2013 she presented her PhD n translation into Basque of German children’s literature (the complete English translation of the title would be the following: “German children’s and youth literature translated into euskera. Corpus based analysis of direct and indirect translations"). She currently works as a teacher and researcher in the degree of translation and interpretation at the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU). The focus of her research is the analysis of translations into the Basque language, the translation of children's and youth literature and the corpus based analysis of translations. Her working languages are English and German.

Gaur egun, ingelesa irakasten du EHUko hainbat gradutan, eta Tralima/Itzulik ikerketa-taldeko kide da. Isabel Etxeberria Ramírez studied Basque Philology at the University of Deusto (1997). She worked as a professional translator for several years and since 2011 she is lecturer on the Translation and Interpreting degree programme at the University of the Basque Country (EHU). She received her PhD from the University of the Basque Country (EHU) in 2024 with a thesis on the specific linguistic characteristics of the Basque translated texts. Her research interests focus on corpus-based descriptive translation studies and translation into minority languages. She is president of the Association of Translators, Correctors and Interpreters of Basque Language (EIZIE). As a translator, she has translated science works and literature into Basque. In 2019, she was awarded the Euskadi Prize for her translation of Alice Munro’s book Etsaiak, lagunak, ezkongaiak, maitaleak, senar-emazteak (Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage).

Irene Hermosa Ramírez, PhD in Translation and Intercultural Studies (Autonomous University of Barcelona, 2022), and former Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral researcher (Pompeu Fabra University, 2024-2025) is a Ramón y Cajal grant-holder at the University of the Basque Country. Irene specialises in Media Accessibility, having participated in the UNIVAC project (Sensory accessibility at the Spanish university: current needs and prospective solutions), the RAD project (Researching Audio Description: Translation, Delivery and New Scenarios) and the Erasmus+ project ATHENA (Bringing Accessibility and Design for All into Higher Education Curricula). She is a member of the executive board of the European Association for Studies in Screen Translation and the editorial board of the Journal of Audiovisual Translation.
