Description

It focuses on the study of biodiversity and ecosystem services, mainly on terrestrial (natural, semi-natural and urban) ecosystems, with the aim of assessing impacts on them and developing actions to improve their situation, as well as to generate knowledge applicable in the development of environmental policies for land management.

All of this is related to the management of the landscape and, therefore, to forest management, a subject in which we work to study the effect of plantations of exotic species on biodiversity (flora and fauna, air and underground).

Research lines

  1. Natural capital assessment: biodiversity and ecosystem services at different scales (spatial and temporal); green/blue infrastructure design.
  2. Forest management effect on the landscape, biodiversity, structure and functioning of ecosystems.
  3. Resistance and ecological resilience in plant communities: responses to management strategies.
