Welcome to the Faculty of Science and Technology at the UPV/EHU, a centre with more than 50 years of experience in teaching and research.

The Faculty of Science and Technology offers a well-focused, quality training covering scientific and technical fields in 9 bachelor programs and 1 joint bachelor degree: Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Physics, Geology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Electronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering and the joint degree in Physics and Electronic Engineering. Furthermore, we offer international joint degrees in Electronic Engineering (with the University of Limoges), Chemistry (with the University of Strasbourg) and Mathematics (with the University of Pau and the Adour region). The Faculty fosters international mobility for our students, with over 150 academic exchange agreements with European, Latin American, North American and Asian universities.

Our postgraduate programs, supported by outstanding academic output, form our students in the newest innovations in technology and science. With 14 official master's degrees, 6 inter-university and 4 recognized as Erasmus Mundus, the Faculty enhances our commitment to global vocation. Our Faculty also provides formation in 4 Life-Long Learning programs.

The full commitment to both teaching and research activities by the lecturers ensures a group of highly-qualified university teachers who can educate a wide range of fields of knowledge. It should be emphasized that nearly all of our lecturers devote a significant part of their time to basic or applied research and participate in regional, national and international research projects. As a result, one of the Faculty’s key distinguishing characteristics is the quantity and quality of its research, evidenced by numerous publications in prestigious international journals and individual and collective awards. The Faculty of Science and Technology holds the leading position at the UPV/EHU in terms of academic output and revenue from research, making us one of the top centres in the Basque Country autonomous community for quality scientific research.

The highly qualified staff of the Faculty means our students can receive an excellent, learning-focused university education. Moreover, the opportunity to complete the Final Degree Project in research groups led by experts in their fields aids in the transition of our graduates to join the job market. One of the goals of the Faculty policy in this direction is to encourage in-company practicums during the final year of the degree.

My best wishes.
