Re-inventing Globalization: Community, Virtues and the Power of Purpose

7th ISBEE World Congress
In-person Conference Dates: July 20-22, 2022
We HOPE that everything will be fine, therefore WE WILL ORGANIZE IN-PERSON CONFERENCE NEXT 2022 IN BILBAO

The ISBEE World Congress 2022 will be held in Bilbao on July 20-22, 2022. The core topic “Re-inventing Globalization: Community, Virtues and the Power of Purpose” will bring together researchers, scholars and practitioners from all over the world.

Bilbao is well known for its impressive architectural and infrastructure projects, among many others, the Guggenheim Museum (designed by Frank Gehry), where the gala dinner will take place.

More than 200 papers will be presented, and we are very pleased to have outstanding guest speakers, such as:

  • Dani Rodrik (Ford Foundation Professor of International Political Economy at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government).
  • Ann Rosenberg (Senior Vice President for UN Partnerships at SAP & Global Head of SAP Next-Gen and SAP University Alliances).
  • Axel Honneth (Jack C. Weinstein Professor for the Humanities in the Department of Philosophy at Columbia University; Director of the Institute for Social Research, Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main and Professor of Social Philosophy, Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main).
  • Edward Freeman (University Professor; Elis and Signe Olsson Professor of Business Administration, University of Virginia)

We look forward to meeting you in Bilbao next July!

Prof Thomas Maak, University of Melbourne
President

The principal venue will be at the University of the Basque Country and University of Deusto in Bilbao. Bilbao is home to the Frank Gehry-designed Guggenheim Museum.

Not long after it opened in 1997, the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao became a case study in urbanism, credited with transforming a declining industrial city into a sleek tourist destination. Few people know more about the “Guggenheim effect” than Miguel Zugaza, both then and now the director of the nearby Bilbao Fine Arts museum. Previously obscure, despite its splendid collection of Spanish masters, his museum now gets twice the 150,000 visitors a year it received in 2002.
