Degree (1988) and PhD (1992) in Pharmacy by the University of Salamanca. Specialist in Industrial Pharmacy (2001), and in Analysis and Control of Drug and Drug Products (2001).
Predoctoral fellowship (3 months) at the University of Groningen (Holland, 1991) and post-doctoral fellowship (1 year) at Sandoz, Basel (Switzerland, 1994).
She is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU since 1998. Accredited as Full Professor in 2009. She has been recognized with 5 docent periods. She gives lessons in the degree in Pharmacy, in the Master's Degree in Pharmacology. Development, Evaluation and Rational Use of Medicines, and in the Doctoral Programme in Research and Evaluation of Drugs. Application of Pharmaceutical Technologies to the Development of Advanced Therapies.
She is the head of the research group of the Basque University System PharmaNanoGene (Pharmacokinetics, Nanotechnology and Gene Therapy). She has been recognized with four research periods.
Research lines: Desing and evaluation of nanoparticles for gene therapy, and Pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamics analysis of antimicrobials.
Co-author of 134 scientific articles in journals indexed in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) system, 7 book chapters, 1 book, and more than 150 communications in congresses. She has directed 13 doctoral thesis, 9 of them with Extraordinary Award. Co-inventor of 3 patents.
