Degree (Licenciado) in Mathematics in 1979 by the University of Bilbao (currently UPV / EHU). Ph.D. degree in Business Administration in 1989 by the UPV / EHU.
He is teaching Mathematics at the Faculty of Economic of the UPV/EHU since 1983. He has supervised and/or co-supervised 4 doctoral theses. He has been Hans Christian Andersen visiting professor at the Southern University of Denmark in Odense (Denmark) for three years (2014-2017).
His field of research is Game Theory and Mathematical Economics. He has participated in 24 research projects, in 7 of which as principal investigator. He has published 38 articles in international journals and a book chapter.
He has been director of the Department of Applied Economics IV of the UPV / EHU in the periods 1999-2001 and 2008-2016.
