Graduate (1997) and Doctor (2004) in Psychology from the UPV/EHU, where he currently holds a position as a professor in the area of Psychobiology. He has been the coordinator of the degree, vice-dean of external internships and postgraduate, and currently secretary of the Department of Basic Psychological Processes and their Development. His research activity begins in the Psychobiology laboratory of the UPV/EHU with the thesis entitled Social Stress, Coping Strategies and Tumor Development: behavioral, immune and neurochemical implications. He currently directs the consolidated research group of Psychobiology, where he actively participates in 2 research lines within the multidisciplinary field called Psychoneuroimmunology. As a member of the Biodonostia Health Research Institute, he also participates in the cohorts study of Childhood and Environment (INMA). He is the author of 21 articles in indexed journals with high impact indexes, as well as a book and a book chapter. He has made 43 contributions to congresses, 25 of them being published in international journals. He has participated in 16 funded research projects, been IP in 3 of them. He made a postdoctoral stay for 6 months at the University of Rochester, and has subsequently attended as a visiting professor for 3 months. He has directed 3 doctoral thesis, and he has 2 “sexenios” of research recognized (CNEAI).
