This week, from 22nd to 26th May 2017, Alfonso Hernández and Víctor Petuya are giving lessons at the UPT (Universitatea Politehnica Timisoara) in Romania. These lessons are funded by the Organization of Erasmus+ for teaching abroad.
Their lessons in this Erasmus+ project are focused on mechanisms and robotics.
COMPMECH Research Group had the pleasure to receive Itzel Flores and Rubén Valenzuela – from the UNAM University in Mexico – this morning. During their visit, they have given a talk about their previous and current projects. It has been really interesting and a great opportunity to learn more about the great work that these two experts in bio-engineering have been doing in the last ten years. We hope to see them again soon and keep talking about future lines in bio-engineering.
This week, Alfonso Hernández, Víctor Petuya, Javier Corral and Mikel Diez have attended the first meeting for young researches organized by the Spanish Association of Mechanical Engineering (AEIM). The meeting has taken place on 9th and 10th May in Calatayud (Aragón, Spain).
The Spanish Mechanical Engineering Association has signed an agreement with the journal DYNA and has selected Víctor Petuya as new Associate Editor.
On 6th April 2017 Mathias Hüsing, from the IGM – RWTH Aachen University, offered a talk at the Faculty of Engineering in Bilbao where he explained the current projects of their research group. The IGM institut and COMPMECH research group collaborate often together in different projects, so it is always very interesting to host them and get their point of view of different topics.
On 7th April 2017 Constantino G. Roldán Paraponiaris defended his PhD Thesis – A method for the Mechatronic Analysis of Parallel Kinematics Manipulators Based on Decoupling the Dynamics of Actuators and Mechanism. Fran Campa has been the Advisor of the PhD Thesis and the jury was formed by Oscar Altuzarra and Alfonso Hernández from the University of the Basque Country (Spain), B. Corves from the IGM – RWTH Aachen (Germany), Vicente Mata from the Polytechnic University in Valencia (Spain) and Andrés Keckskemethy from the (Germany).
We have the pleasure to receive this week the visit of the Director of the Department and the Academic Director of the IGM – RWTH Aachen ,Univ.-Prof.Dr.-Ing. Dr.h.c.Burkhard Corves and Dr.-Ing. M. Hüsing, respectively. During their visit, they will offer us a talk about the current work of the IGM-RWTH Aachen on Thursday 6th April 2017 at 16:30 at the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Faculty of Engineering, Bilbao). Besides, we will have the opportunity to talk about current projects of both research groups as well as possible future collaborations.
Like every year, the Faculty of Engineering in Bilbao is organizing open houses these days and COMPMECH research group is collaborating by explaining to future students what the study of mechanisms consist of and what future students will learn about them during their studies.
It is always a pleasure to meet future students and encourage them to join our University.
This morning, Fran Campa and Javier Corral have attended the talk Robots Colaborativos y sus aplicaciones (Collaborative Robots and their applications) organized by IK4-TEKNIKER, SCHUNK, SICK and UNIVERSAL ROBOTS. The talk has taken place in the morning of 9th March in the offices of IK4-TEKNIKER, in Eibar (Gipuzkoa, Spain).
It has been an interesting talk focussed on the different applications of collaborative robots, including also the exposition of several equipments.
