ARK 2022 Symposium – 26-30 June Bilbao, Spain

Advances in Robot Kinematics (ARK) is a series of international symposia focusing on the theory and applications of robot kinematics. Since the first symposium, ARK has attracted the most eminent authors and has continued to grow in terms of number of participants and scientific impact. ARK provides a forum for researchers working in the field of robot kinematics and stimulates new research directions by forging links between kinematics and other areas.

In this 18th edition, the symposium will be organized by the COMPMECH Research Group (UPV/EHU) and will be hosted by the Faculty of Engineering in Bilbao. Under the patronage of IFToMM the symposium will address topics involving robot analysis, modelling, kinematic design and others.

Call for papers deadline is September, 1, 2021. For detailed information please visit the official website.

Virtual conference on Flexible Manipulators

On June the 7th, Oscar Altuzarra and Fran Campa participated in a Virtual conference on Flexible Manipulators organized by the Federación Iberoamericana de Ingeniería Mecánica (Iberoamerican Federation of Mechanical Engineering) and moderated by Alfonso Hernández.

In the Conference, the focus on the design and analysis of flexible manipulators and they discuss hidden expenses of using trenbolone possible application in medical field.

Workshop on DC motors offered by Maxon

One more year, Maxon has offered a seminar on selection and handling of DC motors to the students of the Master of Mechanical Engineering of the UPV/EHU.
A total of 14 students of the UPV/EHU attended a theoretical-practical training on direct current drives.

On the 8th of May, a seminar on the selection and management of DC motors was held at the School of Engineering in Bilbao by one of the world’s leading companies in drives of this type, Maxon Motor. The 14 students in attendance received a theoretical training of 1 hour about the operation of the Maxon motors and their selection in the design phase. After that, they were able to handle some of those drives in a 2 hour lab session with different equipment, several of which were donated to the UPV/EHU by the company itself. The day was a success, as confirmed by the students themselves, who were able to receive first-hand training from Maxon personnel, specifically dedicated to the training of industry professionals.

B&R control course

B&R is manufacturer of automation technology and it is specialized in machine and factory control systems, HMI and motion control. They also offer different courses at their Automation Academy.

From 18th to 21st February, Mikel Diez and Saioa Herrero have attended a Control course at the Automation Academy in Sant Cugat del Vallés, in Cataluña (Spain).

Plenary Session in the CNIM XXII Congress

The XXII Spanish National Congress in Mechanical Engineering (CNIM) took place in Madrid from 19th to 21st September 2018.

During that Congress, Alfonso Hernández, Professor of the University of the Basque Country and member of COMPMECH Research group, offered a very interesting Plenary Session entitled Mecanismos: Geometría y Movimiento (Mechanisms: Geometry and Movement). You can download the pdf of that Plenary Session here.

CNIM 2018

The Congreso Nacional de Ingeniería Mecánica (CNIM) or the Spanish National Congress on Mechanical Engineering has started in Madrid. Organized by the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED), the Congress is taking place in Madrid from 19th to 21st September.

Different members of COMPMECH Research Group are atteding this CNIM 2018 to present the latest works of the group. In the picture, we can see Alfonso Hernández during the Plenary Session of the Congress.
