Eduardo Robles majored in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering specialized in Manufacturing at the Ibero-American University in Santa Fe, Mexico, where he graduated via General Knowledge Exam for Licentiate Graduation. Subsequently, he studied the Master's Degree in Engineering of Renewable Materials at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU in Donostia, Gipuzkoa. He has completed his doctoral thesis funded by the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT, Mexico) in the group 'Biorefinery Processes' (BioRP) at the Engineering Faculty of Gipuzkoa, obtaining Cum Laude and International Doctorate mentions. During his doctoral studies, he realized scientific stays at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW, Poland) and at the University of Sopron (SOE, Hungary). Currently, he works as a postdoctoral researcher at the Engineering Faculty of Gipuzkoa of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).

Research

Currently, he conducts research related to the procurement and functionalization of cellulose nanofibers from different origins, as well as the elaboration of composites based on nanocellulose (panels, emulsions, films, nanopaper, etc.). The main characterization techniques he dominates are mechanical tests, X-ray diffraction, spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, and surface tension calculated by contact angle.
