Biography

She studied Wood Industrial Engineering at the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel), Brazil (2012). In 2014 finished her Master studies in Science and Engineering of Materials at the same university (UFPel). In the same year, the student made a research training at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) with supervision of Dr. Jalel Labidi. In December 2014 the student gets a PhD scholarship funded by the Council National of Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq - Brazil) to perform the doctorate in Engineering of Renewable Materials with supervision of Dr. Jalel Labidi at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).

Research

As a member of the research group "Wood Science - UFPel" the student collaborated in four research projects funded by national and international public-private funding agencies. Moreover, the student had participated in some meetings and conferences.

During her pre-doctoral research training, she studied different characterization techniques, precipitation and conversion of Kraft lignin by liquefaction processes as part of Biorefinery. Moreover, she has experience in the field of forest resources and products with emphasis in wood technology, wood chemistry and biorefinery, covering the following topics: wood quality; physical and mechanical properties of wood; technological properties of wood; anatomical and macroscopic description of wood; precipitation and characterization of lignin; conversion of lignins; obtaining products from lignin.

Currently, in her PhD research, she focus is the development of new products by liquefaction of different wastes of biomass and its components.
