María Gorosarri González

Permanent lecturer at EHU. She graduated in Law (2002) and in Journalism (2004), she has worked for several years as a journalist, has been media officer and is currently a collaborator in different media.

She holds an International PhD in Communication (2011), with the European thesis (Basque and English) Albisteen kalitatea: Research on Basque Media's News Quality, with a predoctoral fellowship of the Basque Government (2006-2010). She has carried out two postdoctoral projects: at the EHU, with a EHU postdoctoral fellowship (2012-2013), and at Freie Universität (Berlin, Germany), with a postdoctoral fellowship of the Basque Government (2014-2016). She obtained an assistant professor position at the EHU in 2016, and as a permanent professor at the EHU since 2022.

She conducts research on news quality, feminist journalism, and photojournalism. She teaches Photojournalism and Journalism Ethics at the EHU, in Basque and English, as well as in the Master’s Degree in Social Communication.
