I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Biology in 2008 and my PhD degree in 2014, both at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). Currently I am an Assistant Professor in the Dep. of Plant Biology and Ecology and I belong to the Marine Benthos Research Group UPV/EHU. My research has focused on the effects of different stressors on rocky benthic macroalgae. In particular, my main research activity during my doctoral thesis was focused on studying the effects of solar radiation and temperature on the morphological and physyiological performance of the canopy-forming algae Gelidium corneum within the context of climate change. I also have studied the effects of climate change and anthropogenic stressors (e.g. pollution) on rocky benthic macroalgae assemblages as a result of the participation in different projects. The experience acquired during this period has enabled me to publish 18 scientific papers (17 in prestigious international journals), as well as teaching in different master and degree subjects.
