Graduate (1997) and PhD (2006) in Mechanical Engnineering at UPV / EHU. Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering in Bilbao, he has been teaching and researching since November 2000 after a brief professional experience at an engineering company. Accredited for "Profesor Pleno" by UNIBASQ since 2021. His teaching has been focused mainly on subjects related to Strength of Materials and Structures. The research activity during these years has been focused on the study of the dynamic of rail vehicles, the dynamic of the railway track, rail corugation, wheel-rail contact mechanics and wheel-rail profiles optimization. He belongs to a consolidated research group of the UPV / EHU and the Basque Government (in 4 calls). As a result of his research activities, he has co-directed 3 doctoral theses, is co-author of 19 JCR publications, has contributed to more than 30 conference papers, has participated in 15 research projects (3 of them European Projects and in 2 others as main researcher), is co-author of a patent and has obtained some awards (V Talgo Award for Technological Innovation).
