Uxue Uria, born in Sopela, graduated from the University of UPV / EHU in 2005 (Degree Award) and received her Ph.D. in 2009 (Doctorate Award) developing organocatalytic conjugated additions under the direction of Prof. Dr. D. Badía and Prof. J. L. Vicario. After carrying out postdoctoral studies in the group of Magnus Rueping in RWTH Aachen (Germany) from 2010 to 2012 working in the area of Brønsted acid catalysis, she returned to Bilbao, initially with a “Juan de la Cierva contract and as Associate Professor at present. Her research activity focuses on the application of organocatalysis to novel organic reactions especially aimed at the synthesis of natural products.
