Bachelor in Biology (Microbiology) in 1999 and PhD in Cell Biology in 2006 by the UPV/EHU. Lecturer at the Faculty of Science and Technology (UPV/EHU) since 2007.

His research activity has focused on the study of the effects of the environment on terrestrial and marine organisms. Thus, he has extensive experience in the histo(patho)logical studies of marine and terrestrial organisms including mollusks, earthworms and fish. His research work has been reflected in the publication of 21 scientific articles and 3 chapters in research books and has presented his work in more than 70 National and International Congresses. On the other hand, he has participated in more than 15 National and International research projects.

His teaching activity has focused on the area of Cell Biology and Histology and has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate classes since 2007. He is currently the coordinator of student mobility for the degree of Biology at the UPV/EHU and has participated in various activities related to scientific dissemination and teaching such as the week of science (2008-present), the summer scientific campuses (2011-2013) or the Biology Olympiad since 2008 of which he is coordinator since year 2012. Since 2013 he has participated in the PREST GARA/GARATU calls and since 2017 he is the co-director of the own degree Scientific Illustration of the UPV / EHU.
