After obtaining her degree in Physics and a Master’s degree in Nanoscience from the University of the Basque Country, she started her PhD in the NanoPhysics Lab led by Prof. J. E. Ortega in 2009. During this period she studied the electronic and magnetic properties of novel rare earth/noble metal surface alloys by means of angle-resolved and X-ray photoemission, X-ray magnetic circular dichroism and scanning tunneling microscopy.

In the course of her PhD she had the opportunity to work in different international labs and synchrotrons. In particular, she spent three months in the group of Prof. M. Crommie, in the University of Berkeley (U.S.A.).

After finishing her PhD in 2013, she started working in the Institute de Physique et Chimie des Matériaux de Strasbourg (IPCMS) in the group of Dr. L. Limot. Using a low temperature- scanning tunneling microscope she studied the self-assembly of metallocene molecules, and explored the manipulation and creation of novel metallocene-based molecules.

In 2017, she was awarded with a Marie Sklodowska-Curie European fellowship to work in the development of organic spinterface based devices in the group of Prof. L. Hueso in CIC nanoGUNE. Since april 2019 she has been working as associate professor in the Applied Physics department at the university.
