Acquired skills

These are the main competences for which this degree will qualify you:

• Knowledge of basic subjects and technology to enable students to learn new methods and theories, instilling in them the considerable versatility required to adapt to new situations.
• Sufficient knowledge to undertake measurements, calculations, assessments, valuations, surveys, studies, reports, work plans and other similar tasks in IT, according to the knowledge acquired pursuant to the provisions of section 5 in Annex II to the Resolution of the General Secretariat for Universities of 8 June 2009.
• The ability to analyse and assess the social and environmental impact of technical solutions, understanding the ethical and professional responsibility of the duties of a Technical IT Engineer.
• The ability to define, assess and select hardware and software platforms for the development and operation of IT systems, services and applications, according to the knowledge acquired pursuant to the provisions of section 5 in Annex II to the Resolution of the General Secretariat for Universities of 8 June 2009.
• The ability to design and develop centralised or distributed IT systems or architectures integrating hardware, software and networks according to the knowledge acquired pursuant to the provisions of section 5 in Annex II to the Resolution of the General Secretariat for Universities of 8 June 2009.
• The ability to design, develop and maintain IT systems, services and applications using the methods of software engineering as a quality assurance instrument, according to the knowledge acquired pursuant to the provisions of section 5 in Annex II to the Resolution of the General Secretariat for Universities of 8 June 2009.
• The ability to design, develop, assess and ensure the accessibility, ergonomics, usability, security and safety of IT systems, services and applications, as well as the information they manage.
• The ability to design, draft, organise, plan, develop and sign projects within the field of IT engineering whose purpose, according to the knowledge acquired pursuant to the provisions of section 5 in Annex II to the Resolution of the General Secretariat for Universities of 8 June 2009, is the design, development or operation of IT systems, services and applications.
• The ability to learn, understand and apply the necessary legislation during the performance of the professional duties of a Technical IT Engineer and handle specifications, regulations and rules of mandatory compliance.
• The ability to manage the activities involved in the projects within the field of IT according to the knowledge acquired pursuant to the provisions of section 5 in Annex II to the Resolution of the General Secretariat for Universities of 8 June 2009.
• The ability to resolve problems through initiative, decision-making, autonomy and creativity. The ability to express and convey the knowledge, skills and abilities of the professional duties of a Technical IT Engineer.
• To understand and apply the key components of economics and the management of human resources, project management and planning, as well as legislation, rules and regulations within the sphere of IT projects, according to the knowledge acquired pursuant to the provisions of section 5 in Annex II to the Resolution of the General Secretariat for Universities of 8 June 2009.
