Erasmus+ Visiting Staff Mobilities for Teaching (STA) and Training (STT)

Erasmus+ Visiting Staff Mobilities for Teaching (STA) and Training (STT)

Welcome to the information page for international staff interested in undertaking an Erasmus+ Staff mobility for teaching or training at EHU.

On this page, you will find step-by-step information to help you organise your visit.

As a general rule, EHU does not provide a central matching service for Erasmus+ visiting staff mobilities. Teaching and training mobilities should be directly arranged with a host department or office. Exceptions may apply within specific initiatives or alliances, such as ENLIGHT. If you are an ENLIGHT partner, please contact: enlight@ehu.eus  You may also wish to visit the ENLIGHT webiste for information about its Staff Weeks

Important: International staff members interested in participating in an Erasmus+ teaching or training mobility at EHU must apply for Erasmus+funding through their home institution. Application procedures, eligibility requirements and supporting documentation vary from one institution to another. Before preparing your application, please contact the Erasmus+Coordinator or International Office at your home university for guidance on the relevant procedures and deadlines.

Step 1. Contact the potential Host

Please, explore the EHU site and once you have identified a potential host or an area of interest, please contact the relevant person or departament directly to enquire whether they would be willing to host your mobility. Here, you can find a directory of EHU centers and faculties.

Your email should include:

  • A brief personal introduction
  • Your home institution
  • Your field of expertise
  • The purpose of your visit
  • Proposed dates
  • A reference to the Erasmus+ staff mobility programme and the funding scheme under which you intend to participate

Bear in mind that the EHU staff may receive a high volume of requests. Therefore, providing clear and concise information will facilitate the evaluation of your proposal and increase the likelihood of receiving a timely response.

Each department, unit or office independently decides whether it is possible for them to host your visit.

If your request is accepted, the host department will be responsible for:

  • Agreeing on the mobility programme
  • Coordinating the visit schedule
  • Issuing an invitation letter, where required

Step 2. Invitation Letter and/or your mobility agreement

Once a department, unit or office at EHU has agreed to host your teaching or training mobility, it may provide an invitation letter or letter of acceptance, if necessary, and/or assist you with the signature of your mobility agreement.

This document is often required by the home institution as part of the Erasmus+ funding application process.

Invitation letters are issued only by the hosting department.

Step 3. Erasmus+ Documentation and Signing Process

All Erasmus+ relevant documents related to the staff teaching and training mobilities must be signed by the hosting supervisor at EHU.
