The main goal of Sustainable Catalysis is to develop new technologies that use fewer raw materials and less energy, that maximize the use of renewable resources, and minimize or eliminate the use of hazardous chemicals. Our chemical approaches clearly aspire to complement and improve existing methodologies by maximizing resource efficiency, product selectivity and operational simplicity as well as environmental health and safety.
In particular, we are actively pursuing research programmes in the following areas:
- Development of new "click" events
- Transition metal-catalyzed C–H activation processes
- Site-selective functionalization of peptides
- Computational studies of organometallic reactions
