She obtained Basque Government and Polymat grants for the development of her Bachelor and Master Thesis, respectively.

Besides, she did summer internships at CICnanoGUNE in 2017 and at Polymer Processing group in 2018.

During her Barchelor Project, she carried out the synthesis of non-isocyanate polyurethanes (NIPUs) using isosorbide derivatives, under the supervision of Dr. Lourdes Irusta and Dr. Alba Gonzalez.

After her bachelor, she did a summer internship at Polymer Processing group where she worked on the formulation of thermoplastic elastomeric materials and the optimization of their mechanical properties.

In her master thesis, also conducted at Polymers Processing group, she developed PLA, PMMA and PEO based blends focusing on the relationship between composition, processing and properties.

Research

Currently, she is doing her PhD at Polymer Processing and Advanced Multiphasic Polymers (AMP) groups under the supervision of Dr. Guerrica-Echevarría and Dr. Alejandro Müller. Her research is focused on the design and characterization of multiphasic polymer blends based on PLA and other biopolymers. In order to enhance the final mechanical and thermal properties of these blends, she is studying different strategies to improve the crystallinity of PLA and the compatibility between the polymeric phases.
