The collaboration between the Microfluidics Cluster (UPV/EHU) and the Public University of Navarra (UPNA) has resulted in a publication in the journal Talanta.

In this paper, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) protein detection was experimentally demonstrated using a TiO₂ thin film that enabled lossy mode resonance (LMR) generation in a planar optical waveguide within a microfluidic platform. Three detection modes - label-free, sandwich and AuNP-labeled - were tested, and the AuNP-labeled approach achieved the highest sensitivity, reaching a detection limit of 0.1 ng mL-¹, the lowest reported for planar LMR-based planar biosensors.

Congratulations to the whole team and we envisage great synergies to keep on going!
