Graduated (2001) and PhD (2007, European mention and extraordinary prize) by the UPV/EHU, where she has been teaching since 2009. Throughout these years she has supervised or co-supervised 4 Doctoral Theses, one of which has been done in co-supervision with the University of Marburg, 3 with international mention and 3 with extraordinary doctorate prize. She has been a visiting researcher at four centers: CINSO-CONICET (Buenos Aires, Argentina), ICMCB (Bordeaux, France), DTU-Risø (Roskilde, Denmark) and INQIMAE-University of Buenos Aires (Argentina). She has actively participated in 15 research projects and 3 educational innovation projects. She is co-author of more than 60 scientific articles, 1 book and 3 book chapters. She has also participated in about 90 contributions to national and international conferences. It has 2 research six-year term recognized by the CNEAI.
She is a scientist specialized in materials science and solid-state chemistry. In recent years her research has focused on the design and characterization of novel materials for energy conversion and storage. In this sense, the main objectives of her research are summarized in: analysis of oxygen reduction (ORR) and evolution (OER) reactions in metal-air batteries and synthesis, physico-chemical and electrochemical characterization of novel materials for energy storage.
