She is Permanent Associate Professor in Automatic Control and Systems Engineering at the Basque Country University (UPV/EHU). She graduated with BSc in Computer Science (1990) and obtained her Ph.D. degree (1999) from Deusto University. Since 2001, she is a member of the Systems Control and Integration research group (GCIS) of the UPV/EHU. She is co-author of more than 35 technical papers in international journals and conference proceedings, and researcher of more than 30 projects funded by National and European R&D programmes.



She was Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (2012-2017), member of the Academic Committee of the Master's Degree in Control Engineering, Automation and Robotics (INCAR) (2008-2012), and member of the Academic Committee of Doctoral Program in INCAR (2009-2013). She was Program Co-Chair of IEEE ETFA 2010. She participated in the organization of IEEE ETFA in 2010, Jornadas de Automática in 2015 and the Real Time Group meeting in 2005 and 2018.



She is lecturer of Computer Science and Automatic Control related subjects in different University degrees in Industrial Engineering and Environmental Engineering, and Model Driven Engineering, Control Embedded Systems and Industrial Informatics related subjects in several Master degrees (INCAR and Industrial Engineering).



Her main research interests deal with the application of Model Driven Engineering to industrial control systems and reconfigurable distributed applications in the context of I4.0.
