I graduated in Biochemistry at the UPV/EHU where I subsequently completed my phD on Cell and Developmental Biology (focused on the development and pathology of ectodermal organs such as teeth). Then I worked for 3 years at the Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research (ISREC/ EPFL. Lausanne) as postdoctoral fellow where I studied the role of BMPs in mammary gland development and breast cancer. Then I moved to the University of Zurich where I worked for 6 years as Senior Lecturer/Researcher, where I gave Lectures to undergraduate students (Dental Medicine) and master students. My research there was focused on the regulation of stem cell fate determination during organ development and regeneration (using mammary gland and orodental tissues as main experimental models).
