Graduate and Doctor in Chemical Sciences by the UPV/EHU, she is lecturer in the Medicine Degree and several postgraduate courses of the UPV/EHU and University of Valencia (external lecturer). She is responsible for the doctoral program "Biomedical Research" and member of the Academic Committee of the doctoral program "Molecular Biology and Biomedicine" at the UPV/EHU. She has been a member of the Committee of Quality and Permanent Commission in the Doctorate School (DOKe). She has directed 11 doctoral theses (1 with Extraordinary Award and 3 with international mention). She has extensive experience in directing research works (TFGs and Master’s Thesis) and local, regional and national research projects. She has 5 “Sexenios” of Research and accreditation as Full Professor of University by the CNEAI.

She leads a consolidated group “Free Radicals and Oxidative Stress research Team, FROST” that researches in the field of free radicals and lipidology in human Physiopathology. She has organized scientific congresses (4 international) in her research area, and has participated in the Board of Directors of the Spanish Group for Free Radical Research (GEIRLI).
