Lecturer Eloy Irigoyen Gordo graduated as an Industrial Engineer at the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU) in 1992. Subsequently, he obtained his PhD in Industrial Engineering at the Public University of Navarra (UPNA) in 2003, with the qualification of Outstanding CUM LAUDE. He was initially working at the UPNA (1993-2000). Afterward, it was incorporated during the course 2000-2001 to the University of Deusto. Later on, he became a member of the UPV / EHU as Associate Professor in 2001-2011, and as Aggregate Professor in 2011-2020. Currently and since 2020, he is a Lecturer in the same university.



Dr. Irigoyen earned three six-year periods of research and industrial transfer granted by the National Agency of Research Evaluation of Spain, 2012, 2018 and 2019, respectively. He has leaded four doctoral theses, and currently, Dr. Irigoyen is leading 3 more doctoral theses, two of them close to completion. He has got more than 380 citations in research papers, with a rate of 55 citations per year in the last 5 years. Considering the 34 contributions published in the period 2016-2021, the most relevant are in Journals with a high Impact Factor (Q1).



He is leading the Intelligent Control Research Group at the UPV/EHU. Due to this status, he has led several projects as a Principal Investigator, in addition to participating as a Collaborating Researcher in many others.
