The crisis caused by the Covid-19 breakthrough has brought back the social perception that science must be one of the main drivers of social, environmental and economic development. Furthermore, society demands a more proactive and professional behaviour on the part of public administrations, non-governmental organizations and companies when leading the changes that must be promoted to respond to the new conditions imposed by a systemic and global crisis.
As a university community, faculty members and students are part of the scientific ecosystem and, therefore, they must assume the responsibility to help building a more advanced society, a more sustainable planet and a thriving and better distributed economy. Creating, sharing, debating and making the knowledge that created in the university context visible through this event is an opportunity to meet social expectations regarding our contribution to draw better future scenarios.
