Purificación Saiz Agustín holds a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from the UPV/EHU since 2007. She worked for 6 years in GSM/GPRS/UMTS mobile operators, in the areas of Operation and Maintenance, and Backbone Network Engineering. Since 2002 she has been a lecturer in the Dept. of Communications Engineering at the UPV/EHU, currently as an Associate Professor, and has been awarded 4 five-year teaching periods. She teaches subjects related to telecommunications networks, mobile networks and security in distributed systems in the Degree in Telecommunications Technology Engineering at the UPV/EHU. Her teaching activity was rated in 2016 by the UPV/EHU as Excellent for meeting the excellence in all the dimensions of the DOCENTIAZ Programme.
She carries out her research activity in the Signal and Communications Group (GSC) in the field of digital processing of low-frequency signals, mainly in the field of digital processing of electrical signals. Between 2011 and 2016 she was part of the working group WG C4.111: Review of LV and MV compatibility levels for voltage fluctuations of CIGRE. She has participated in more than 40 publicly and privately funded research projects. She is co-author of 31 journal articles (26 of them in indexed journals), 4 books, 6 book chapters, 43 contributions in international conferences and 15 in national conferences. She has two 6-year research periods (sexenios) recognised by CNEAI.
