Dr. Asier Longarte has been working in the Spectroscopy Group of the Physical Chemistry Department since 2003, first as Ramón y Cajal Program Researcher and since 2011, in a permanent research position. His research focuses on the experimental study of ultrafast photophysical and photochemical processes at molecular scale by using methods based in ultrashort light pulses. He has been involved in a considerable number of research projects in the fields of spectroscopy and molecular dynamics. He also participates in the department activities by teaching different topics on fundamental physical chemistry
He graduated in Chemistry in 1995 from the UPV/EHU. PhD in Chemistry at the UPV/EHU Physical Chemistry Department in 2000. Post-doc position at the Purdue University Chemistry Department from 2000 to 2003. Ramon & Cajal researched from 2003-2008 at the UPV/EHU Physical Chemistry Department.
He is co-author of numerous scientific papers and contributions to congresses. He is also supervisor of several in progress PhDs.
