Dr. M. Insausti did the PhD in Science in the University of the Basque Country in 1992 started as Senior lecturer in 1996. In that period she stayed at the University of Valencia and University of Marburg performing Solid State Chemistry and participated in more than 10 projects related with the preparation and characterizations of mixed oxides as precursors of superconductors and magnetoresistence. She supervised 7 Master thesis and 2 Doctoral Thesis.
From 2005 she began in the area of nanomaterials with the installation of the facilities for nanoparticles preparation. The experience adquired in that field yield to the collaboration with medical doctors of the Hospital of Galdakao to perform magnetic hyperthermia by means of nanoparticles to induce heat for therapies in colorectal tumors. In this area she has participed in more than 10 projects, 1 Cost Action and 1 Europe-Japan Network , being the IP of 3 of them. She has supervised 5 doctoral Thesis and 10 master thesis in this area. She has published more than 90 articles in International Scientific Journals, with more than 1300 cites and 90 contributions to Congress and Workshops.
