After stduying industrial egineering at the Engineering School of Bilbao I focused on polymers and did a master on Advanced Technology in Petrochemicals, Polymers and Plastics at the french Institut Français du Pétrole. Then I did my PhD at DSM (in the Netherlands) and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuve (Belgium).
Next I worked for over three years at Lea-Artibai Ikastetxea (Markina-Xemein, Spain) as researcher and teacher. I lectured in two engineering degrees: Polymer engineering and Mechanical engineering. Besides I taught in secondary school and advanced vocational school levels, and also several courses for other companies.
In 2010 I started working at the University of the Basque Country as researcher and in 2011 I began lecturing.
I have taught university chemistry, polymer science, materials science and (currently) physics.
My current research focus is on polymer composites based on thermoplastics, mostly from bio origin.
