Beñat Artetxe (1986), BSc in Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU (Extraordinary Award and Special Mention in the National Awards for Excellence in the University Academic Performance from the Ministry of Education) and MSc New Materials (best student award), he finished his PhD in 2014 (Extraordinary Award and International Thesis Mention). In this period, he spent a research stay at Goodyear Polymer Center, the University of Akron, USA. After his postdoctoral period at Dpt. Inorganic Chemistry (UPV / EHU) and BCMaterials, since 2016 he works as lecturer combining both teaching and research tasks.

In the last 6 years, he has published 30 articles in journals indexed by the Web of Science, as well as 2 book chapters. He has contributed to tens of national and international congresses, collaborated in various research projects, participated in scientific dissemination activities, acted in 2 doctoral thesis juries and co-directed 1 PhD thesis (in progress), 9 Final Degree Projects and 4 Final Master's Projects. His current research is focused on the synthesis and characterization (specially, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, photoluminescence and light scattering techniques) of inorganic clusters (polyoxometalates) and their functionalization.
