I graduated (1989) and I got my PhD (1993) in Chemistry from The University of The Basque Country, obtaining the Doctoral Thesis Prize.
Since 1999 I am senior lecturer in the department of Physical Chemistry of that university and I have been teaching about Physical Chemistry in several Degrees of the Faculty of Science and Technology. Due to this work, I have published a book and teaching materials, and I have obtained four five-year teaching periods.
My research has been based mainly on the photophysics of dyes that are used as active media of lasers, photoactive hybrid materials, in photodynamic cancer therapy, antennas for solar cells, white emission materials, etc. This research has been financed with 30 research projects, awarded by the Basque Government (Group A since 2010) and by the Government of Spain. I have published four chapters of book, 8 reviews and more than 50 articles in indexed journals of high international prestige. Thanks to that, my index h is 28, and I have been recognized four six-year period of research.
Furthermore, I have been Deputy Head of Department and actually, I am member of the Faculty Board, coordinator of the 3rd course of the Degree in Chemistry and member of the 1st Intervention Team of the Center. I have carried out many activities of scientific divulgation by means of deliveries of videos and radio interviews, taking part in different events (Chemistry in Action, Week of Science ...) and also as an article reviewer.
