Dr. Rafael Morales is an experienced researcher in nanotechnology and nanomagnetism. For the last fifteen years, he has been working in Condensed Matter Physics and Materials Sciences investigating magnetic properties of thin films and patterned nanostructures. He has studied coupling effects in magnetic heterostructures and novel spin configurations in systems of reduced dimensionality. His know-how in this field comprises the experimental techniques for the fabrication of metallic nanostructures to the analysis and measuring techniques of their physical properties and the design of magnetic systems with specific features. He is, and has been, coordinator of European grants in the Horizon 2020 and FP7 programmes for the research of novel magnetic nanostructures for medical applications, and the study of exchange interaction effects in nanomagnets.
