Visit of Evangelia Fantaki and Triantafyllia Veneti, Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB)
June 8-12
During our visits on June 8 (Sarriko Campus, Faculty of Economics and Business), June 9 (Vitoria-Gasteiz), and June 10 (San Sebastián), we had the opportunity to meet with academic and administrative staff from the University of Bilbao across its different campuses and to explore all facilities in the three cities. We were given an excellent guided tour of the libraries, where we also saw rare and historical book editions. Throughout the meetings, we discussed key topics such as the internationalization of universities and the strengthening of European cooperation in higher education, the procedures for managing and implementing Erasmus+ mobility programs for students and staff, the exchange of good practices in administrative organization and support of the academic community, as well as the use of digital tools and information systems to enhance administrative services.
The hospitality, organisation, and strong willingness to collaborate demonstrated by the University of Bilbao staff significantly contributed to the achievement of the mobility objectives. The opportunity to meet colleagues across all three campuses also allowed us to build professional connections, experience the culture of different cities, spend time with local colleagues, and gain a deeper sense of their daily academic environment. Through these exchanges, we recognized the importance of continuous staff training, the effective use of digital tools, and the reinforcement of international cooperation between universities. We believe that such initiatives offer valuable opportunities for professional development and contribute meaningfully to the improvement of institutional services.
