International trainees (voluntary student internships)

This section provides details regarding “extracurricular external internships” (referred to at the EHU as “external academic internships”). These are internships undertaken voluntarily by students during their period of study; while they share the same objectives as curricular internships, they are not included in the official study programmes—though they may subsequently be mentioned in the European Diploma Supplement.

In the case of “curricular” internships, the individual’s primary status remains that of a “student” (whether an “exchange student” or a “student enrolled at the EHU to obtain an EHU degree”).
