IWC: Tandem Programme

Tandem Programme

Tandem is a free linguistic and cultural exchange service run by the EHU for the entire university community.

Tandem is a great opportunity for local and visiting members of the university community to meet, get to know one another and learn or practice languages in a cooperative manner, while at the same time developing intercultural skills.

If you have any questions or queries about Tandem, please contact: gasteiz.welcomecentre@ehu.eus

How does the Tandem programme work?

If you are interested in honing your language skills with Tandem, please fill in this form indicating which language you can share with others and which you would like to practice.

The International Welcome Centre will pair you up or form groups based on language preferences and proximity (attending the same campus/school). We will then put you in touch via email so you can get to know each other.

From this point forward, it is up to each Tandem pair or group to organise themselves autonomously:

  • Choosing times and places to meet up and practice their language skills
  • Deciding how often to meet and how long each meeting should last
  • Deciding to stop meeting

How can I assess the Tandem programme?

If you would like to share your experience in the Tandem programme and voice your opinion, please fill out this form.

Please note that the EHU does not issue certificates of participation to those in the programme, nor will credits be awarded for taking part.
