Equipment of the month: DOUBLE TRANSDUCER MODULAR RHEOMER ARES G2

Image

The new ARES G2, is a rotary deformation rheometer with motor and transducer controlled in separate heads that allows measurements of normal stress and stress in independent layers, which leads to error-free measurements in wide ranges of stress, strain and frequency. It is capable of performing stationary shear, oscillatory shear and oscillatory DMA type tests in axial mode, with different deformation modes depending on the geometry used. It has a forced convection oven with the possibility of a global temperature range from - 100 ° C to 550 ° C, as well as a Peltier system with a temperature range from -10 ° C to 150 ° C. In the latter case, it has a solvent collector cover that works in conjunction with the geometry used to create a thermally stable vapor barrier and virtually eliminate any solvent loss during experiments that require it.

The study of the rheological properties of materials is a priority, not only because of its importance in terms of quality control, but also because of the great current interest towards the continuous development of new materials with specific properties, which makes rheology one of the techniques most requested in the Service, from the private and industrial sector, due to the great importance of this type of tests for the control of the processing of materials, as well as in the scientific field. Therefore, the new equipment will have a really wide scope of application: plastics, food, adhesives, paints, cosmetics, industrial oils, biological fluids and pharmaceutical products, among others.
