Soy demógrafa y mi interés se centra principalmente en la demografía familiar.

Estudié Economía en la Universidad Bocconi (2009), Máster en Demografía por la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2012) y obtuve mi Doctorado en Demografía Social en la Universitat Pompeu Fabra de Barcelona (2017). Desde entonces, he trabajado como profesor ayudante en la Universidad de Groningen y en 2022 obtuve una de las plazas de Research Fellow convocadas por la Fundación Vasca para la Ciencia Ikerbasque, gracias a la cual me incorporé en enero de 2023 al Grupo de Investigación en Determinantes Sociales de la Salud y Cambio Demográfico – OPIK de la UPV/EHU. Soy una de las expertas de Population Europe, la Red de Centros de Investigación Demográfica en Europa.

Mi investigación aborda cómo el apoyo parental de los abuelos determina o puede determinar las decisiones de fecundidad en los países de renta alta. Trabajo en las áreas de fecundidad y dinámica familiar, salud y bienestar materno, demografía social e intercambios intergeneracionales. Actualmente mis trabajos se centran en:

(1) Las dinámicas de la fecundidad en el contexto de fecundidad baja y tardía

(2) Las características de los abuelos y el comportamiento de los familiares en las sociedades avanzadas

(3) El compromiso social y sus implicaciones tanto para los resultados cognitivos como no cognitivos a edades avanzadas.
