The target of this project is to design a system able to acquire stereoscopic images of video sources and to process them to determine the three-dimensional structure of the scenes. The system will be compound of an image acquisition subsystem and a processing subsystem. The Image Acquisition Subsystem will be designed to provide a set of sequential stereoscopic images in an adequate format for high speed processing. The Processing Subsystem will be designed taking advantage of the great possibilities parallelism and reconfigurability offered by the most recent FPGAs.
