Development of a Full Power Link (FPL) prototype in applications of radial grids (FPLRADIAL)

Company / Centre:
-
Period:
from 2021 to 2024
Description:

he operation of the distribution grid can be optimized by connecting FPL (Full Power Link) dispositives along the grid. These dispositives are based on power electronics, which offers the possibility of adding new functionalities to the grid in order to improve its effectiveness. These new functionalities have been developed during a previous project. In this case, FPLRADIAL has three main goals:

1. Development of an FPL prototype with low power and voltage in order to achieve the possibility of experimental testing at APERT research team facilities. This prototype will be based on Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP) concept.

2. Experimental validation of the new functionalities achieved during the previous project. In the same manner, establishment of the operation limits of the developed functionalities in terms of commutation frequency, power, voltage, etc.

3. Development of new control algorithms for adding more functionalities. These algorithms will be carried on by the software tool Matlab-Simulink.
