Development of a power converter prototype of a Flexible Power Link (FPL) for meshing MV lines

Distribution lines are constantly changing due to factors such as the increasing demand, the integration of the distributed generation, the raise of the electrical vehicle, new grid codes, etc. In this sense, the grid must be adapted in order to deal with all these requirements while guaranteeing a continuous supply and a good quality service. Therefore, it is necessary to include FPL (Flexible Power Link) dispositives based on power electronics with new functionalities in order to deal with the requirements of the grid. These functionalities must be developed in order to integrate them into the FPL. Thus, the main goal of this project is to implement the control algorithms of the FPL that carry out new functionalities inside the FPL in order to guarantee and improve the service of the distribution power lines.
