One of the major advances achieved in recent years in the sector of home automation in Europe is the establishment of standard protocol KNX/EIB for home automation and buildings. The research in this project is focused in advanced privacy systems applied to electronic communications in industrial and residential applications as well as the use of reconfigurable logic to implement authentication and encryption algorithms using VHDL.
