AEROSECURE: Cybersecure Switch/Router for Real-Time Airborne Applications
- Company / Centre:
- Period:
- from 2024 to 2027
- Description:
-
This project focuses on researching the most suitable architectures and technologies for a high-security switch/router in the modern aerospace environment, exploring the possibility of using quantum communications or the White Rabbit synchronization protocol developed by CERN. Its main objective is to guarantee deterministic and secure communications in sub-nanosecond real-time systems, complying with aeronautical regulations and cybersecurity standards. The proposed solution seeks to integrate advanced post-quantum protection mechanisms against cyberattacks, traffic isolation capabilities, and redundancy for fault tolerance. During the development phase, the project also aims to ensure the system is prepared to operate under extreme conditions of voltage, temperature, vibration, and pressure, in order to guarantee reliability in critical missions.
